The lovely Natalie from Fashion Intel invited us over the launch party for Brian Lichtenberg’s t-shirt line for Forever 21.
The event was held on the roof of the Beverly Center and had champagne popping and a DIY decoration booth where you could bedazzle the new line of shirts! We hit the party with super stylist Steph Ashmore and then ran into some of our favorite LA friends including So Super Sam + Tasha Nita Adams from Mondette!
Check out Racked for the full report and images. Also check out forever21 to get your hands on the shirts!

(No Subject) co-founder, Chelsea Matthews, has not only been attending the Vegas trade shows for many years, but can now add several to her client roster. A few pointers from an in-the-know P.O.V.:
SHOWS TO SEE:
POOLTRADESHOW: The only show for emerging concepts and artist-driven lines. Prepare to get inspired, see some live art, and play ping-pong!
WORKROOM: The crème de la crème of advanced contemporary men’s and women’s lines. This new show is breaking ground and has garnered some mah-jor buzz. Feels like you’ve stepped into a design studio.
SLATE @ MAGIC: Your streetwear destination. Loud music, happy hours and Karmaloop lounge goodness.
PROJECT: A behemoth of top-notch brands, curated beautifully. A show so big they have Project taxis (aka golf carts) that take you from one end to the other. If you can find a way into the VIP area, be prepared for an amazing food and booze spread.
MUST-GO PARTIES
The parties change every season, and generally aren’t announced until the week of, but here are a few you can always count on:
POOLTRADESHOW Opening Night Party – POOL is one of the only parties that hosts a two-hour open bar. Plus live bands. Plus Jiro Schneider photobooth sessions. Plus a great crowd.
AG Jeans Party – All we gotta say is there was a private Foo Fighters show during their February 2010 party.
Any party held at XS at Encore. Probably the best club in Vegas because of it’s indoor / outdoor fantasy land vibes.
THE DOs + DONTs
DO wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be trekking.
DO check out the various free seminars offered at the shows. Super informative and some pretty interesting speakers.
DO upgrade your coffee to a Venti. You’ll need it.
DO collect as many business cards as you can! Make a game out of it. There’s some great networking to be had.
DO squeeze in some pool time. We all need a little R&R.
DON’T sacrifice style for comfort. You can blend the two!
DON’T forget to arrange a badge before you go! They’re practically impossible to get on-site. And there’s always someone who knows someone who knows someone who can get you one.
DON’T drink too much. I know, it’s Vegas. But there are a lot of people there who you’ll likely see again.
DON’T get too excited about all the free magazines. Remember, you’ll have to lug them around all day (back pain anyone?).
See you there!
xo,
(No Subject) Team.

The (No Subject) team headed over to dine at The Gorbals here in DTLA. After it reopened this past October, we’ve been dying to try it! The chef is Ilan Hall, best known for his awesome personality and unique pallate that led to his win of Bravo’s Top Chef during the show’s second season. (We spoke and he personally recommended that we try the burger!)
According to the restaurant web site, the name comes from the post-war neighborhoods in Scotland, much like New York’s Lower East Side, where poor immigrants (mainly Jewish, Indian and Pakistani) made their homes, cooked their meals and lived their traditions while excluded from the mainstream culture. Like the neighborhood melting pot, the menu at The Gorbals is a blend of Scottish, Jewish, Spanish, and American flavors.
The occasion was bittersweet as our favorite intern is headed back to D.C. Best of luck to Jeff + thanks for all your hard work! Follow him on twitter @JeffMindell!
